Modernized Art Deco Styling

Posted by Sara Guerrero on

Dare to dip into the world of Modernized Art Deco? You’ve come to the right place.

We love playing with opposite attractions and timeless is the name of the game when it comes to our design and styling methods here. This makes our Art Deco pieces a true staple in the collection. With a vision in place to create pieces which intersect both a modern concept and a vintage-inspired design to withstand the test of time, we’re happy to offer stylings which redefine what timeless means.

What is Art Deco?

The Art Deco fashion movement is something that originated in the 1920s and gained momentum by the early 1930s after being showcased in the Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes circa 1925 as a new wave design. This new style was meant to represent modernism turned into luxury fashion as a way of symbolizing wealth and sophistication in a nontraditional, yet elegant way. The Art Deco style is one that’s easily identifiable through often clean or simple shapes combined with geometric (remember our Ballerina Inspired Designs blog post?), symmetrical stylings and incorporation of color. Specifically in the world of fine jewelry and sprinkled throughout our collection, it can be found in more of a metal-forward or bold design often incorporating a very geometrical, structured style which leans into that recognizable Art Deco look.

Now make it modern

The staple Art Deco look is one that’s historically withstood the industry's ever-changing trends; but what happens when you take something so iconic and add a modern twist?

Pure magic.

Tying in the elements that make this archetypal style so identifiable along with cuts and shapes that may otherwise not be associated with the classic “Art Deco” look create a level of uniqueness unlike any other. Our collection features several of these Modernized Art Deco styles including staple collection bands such as our Aja band and Ero band or rings such as the Astro ring and Hana ring

Now there is nothing we love more than versatility when it comes to bands, which is why many of our Art Deco inspired pieces are stylized as bold wedding bands, alternative engagement rings, or powerful right hand rings. The options are endless when it comes to ways of incorporating these modernized yet timeless pieces to your story.

Ballerina Inspired Designs

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

If you are fascinated by intricate design, your style is two parts vintage and one part new, and if your motto is “more is more,” then oh do we have the perfect engagement ring for you!

The intricate and clustered design of this newly discovered dream ring is inspired by ... graceful and beautiful Ballerinas!

Ballerina cluster rings are a fanciful and distinctive style of cluster. Inspired by the shape of a ballerina’s tutu, the cluster of diamonds simulates the flowing movement of the ballerina dancing, creating a dramatic swirling effect on the finger.

Ballerina Inspired Designs were first seen in the 1950's and were favored by some of the most prestigious jewelry houses, such as Tiffany, Boucheron and Oscar Heyman Brothers. The skill in creating a ‘ballerina’ involved meticulous precision and exactness in the cutting and setting of the gemstones to lie perfectly next to each other.

We at Kasia Jewelry, love to put our own unique spin on these classic designs by using a Champagne or Salt & Pepper Diamond as the center stone, surrounded by white Diamond halos. This creates a beautiful contrast, and in our opinion, adds incredible dimension!

Our Petite Sammy Ring, Leilani Ring, Champagne Astro Ring, and Gia Ring all feature romantic Champagne Diamonds in the center. Our original Sammy Ring and Pepper Sol Ring feature Salt & Pepper Diamonds for a touch of edge.

With so much detail in the design, some feel that Ballerina Inspired Engagement Rings leave little room for wedding bands. However, we never miss an opportunity to stack. Introducing Contour Bands is a great way to compliment and highlight a detailed engagement ring.

Hop on a Virtual Appointment with one of our stylists to discover the Ballerina Inspired piece that speaks to you, topped with the perfect complimentary bands!
