KJ Couples: Ellery & Beloved

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

We love your love! That is why we have decided to reach out to a few of our amazing Kasia Tribe members, new and returning, to tell their stories. Love is powerful, beautiful, diverse and worthy of honoring through your unique story. By sharing these openly with you, we intend to spread joy in a time when we need it the most. We understand the privilege it is to be a part of your story, and we hope the sincerity of these couples will reflect the very special relationships we aim to have with everyone who walks through our doors (whether in-person or virtually).

Next up, we have Ellery & Beloved, two incredible souls who inspire us and radiate love!

When did you know that your partner was THE ONE?

I don’t think there was one single thing that made me know Beloved was “the one,” but there was a moment when I realized that no matter what happened in our lives I would go anywhere in the world with him, even if it meant leaving my home, family, and friends in the US and moving to his home country Zimbabwe. I knew that if I cared about Beloved so much that I would follow him around the world, then he was the man I wanted to marry!

What is one thing you love about your significant other?

One of the many things I love about him is how generous and selfless he is. Beloved is always going out of his way to help his friends, family, and strangers. When I first met him I would see him volunteering to clean our pastor’s bathroom every Friday night after our weekly gathering, and his kindness really made an impression on me!

What is an activity you love to do together?

Beloved and I love to go hiking together. It’s a great way to exercise, and we are able to have fun being together at the same time. We love getting outside and appreciating the beauty of nature while we also get a good workout!

How did you two meet? (Give us as many details as you’d like!)

We were attending the same church, and I started going to the Friday night gathering at our pastor’s house that Beloved went to. We were both really shy at first, but we slowly started talking, and with the encouragement of our mutual friend we started hanging out.

How did he/she propose?

We were on our favorite hike, Viejas Mountain. While we were resting at the top of the mountain, Beloved tricked me to stand up by asking me to take some pictures of him to send to his brother. When I stood up he started posing for the pictures, but then he got down on one knee and proposed! I should have known there was a reason he took his backpack this time - he had to have somewhere to keep the ring safe while we were hiking up the mountain!

How does Kasia Jewelry fit into your story?

Kasia and her husband are friends of Beloved’s family. When it was time to pick an engagement ring, we knew we wanted one to see what options Kasia Jewelry had, and we found just the right one! We loved it so much that we returned for our wedding bands. Kasia helped us pick bands that look amazing together and that really fit our personalities. All our friends agree - they are perfect for us!

How to Style our Bold Collection

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

We cannot get enough of these wonderfully BOLD pieces, and apparently we're not alone! Warm yellow gold and uniquely set, one of a kind stones make these pieces covetable and different from anything we've seen before. But what pieces can pair with them as to compliment the look, and not take away from it? We've got fresh ideas we think you'll love! Bold but never Bulky!

First up is our Lilinoe Ring, paired with Kiyomi Band on top, and Black Diamond McKenna Band on bottom. We love the contrasting colors, and the contour around the pear center stone adds an unexpected twist.

Beautiful Valencia Ring is paired with Rio Band, Mali Band, and Clara Band. For a metal forward look, contrasted and framed by bright, white Diamonds keeping unity amongst all the points.

Harika Ring is truly a showstopper - she doesn't need much! Paired with Emerald Lucy Band for a subtle pop of color. We love the way Emeralds can add such personality to any stack. Not a lot, just a little!

Bold and modern Harlow Ring, paired with Half Dicha Band and Maddison Band. Baguette Diamonds add to its very modern feel, and Maddison Band plays up the negative space.

Zuelke Ring and Maizi Band - a match made in heaven. The two have a similar feel - matte finish with a domed shape. They give us the same feeling that an amazing suit would.

Mata Ring paired with Lorelei Band offers a fun metal-on-metal look. The organic shape of Lorelei band adds a soft touch to the structure of Mata Ring, for those after just a touch of shine.

How are you styling your BOLD pieces? We would love to know! Tag us on Instagram, and you may just see your pairings on our page.

Fine Jewelry 101

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

Fine jewelry consists of a word fine for a reason. This post is to ensure an understanding of what’s truly required to prolong your piece's lifetime outside of the obvious.

Not every piece of jewelry is made equal. With attention to details from a design standpoint, we want to ensure that the design is equally appropriate for clients' lifestyles. Not to mention that rings and bands take the biggest amount of abuse, as we use our hands the most!

Even the most durable stone settings are only durable to a degree. Therefore, we take a look at several factors, considering each one noteworthy, when deciding upon how practical your ring will be for daily wear and your level of activity. Although don't dwell entirely on durability - many people love the look of a dainty piece, so being sensible is the key. Find a balance, but consider some important factors that will best suit YOU!

Care must be taken with any piece of fine diamond jewelry. Only a few pieces (if any) will withstand regular abuse when knocked and scraped. Jewelry withstanding heavy wear will show abuse and neglect through scuffs, scrapes and gouges by a naked eye or under a loupe. The prongs will become loose due to excessive force and forgetting to practice simple mindfulness. This is because gold is malleable, and should be treated with this in mind.

Our Fera family of bands is a favorite for a reason - whether large, super, or our perfectly dainty original, she can soften any look with her incredible marquise diamonds. Part of what gives these bands their floating-like appearance and diamond forward feel is their shared prong design. They seem to almost defy gravity, perfectly balancing all in a row. This is because each one of the Diamonds is held in place by two shared prongs, contrary to most traditional four prong, pave, bezel or channel setting.

Other examples of current shared prong favorites include our Meryl Band, Misa Band, Ruet Band, and any other piece with a description of such.

Gorgeous, right? Although they are not for everyone, as these shared prong beauties do require some extra care and love. If even one prong becomes loose or if the band is bent out of shape, because of its domino-like effect, you are immediately at higher risk of losing one of your very precious diamonds! But not to worry - all you need to do is follow these simple guidelines along with being mindful.

  1. Treat her with love! We recommend taking off all of your fine jewelry before bedtime, before exercising, or before doing any strenuous activity that requires your lovely hands. It doesn’t necessarily always require a strong force to harm jewelry, sometimes the right force at just the right angle can be just as harmful. Be mindful of this when reaching into your purse, wrapping the dog leash around your hand, or making one trip carrying all of your reusable grocery bags in at once. We’ve done this before and learned the HARD way.
  2. Six month check ups - aka “jewelry oil changes.” This is crucial to the longevity of your pieces! We recommend bringing in your jewels to either us or a local jeweler twice a year for a quick tune up. We will examine the piece to ensure all prongs are secure and tight, and that the piece is in tip-top condition. Not to mention a nice deep clean - this goes a long way in preserving your pieces.
  3. Pay attention and listen! Your jewels may be trying to tell you something. If a stone were to become loose, you will be able to tell by tapping on the stone with your fingernail. You will be able to feel it move slightly. Additionally, if you shake the piece lightly next to your ear, you will be able to hear a faint rattling sound. It is time to take your piece in right away if you were to see or hear these very important warning signs!
  4. All rings should be a perfect circle. Because gold is naturally soft, it can be prone to warping over time. If force is applied, this can also alter the shape of your ring or band. Because each of the stones is held together by perfect pressure being applied, when the shape of the band is altered, this can cause the stone setting to expand and open up more, releasing the stones. It’s simple physics, really!
  5. The right size is crucial. If the band is too big, it is more prone to damages. This is because it can spin or catch more easily on things and bend out of shape, which in return quickly loosens the settings. Think of your finger as the most perfect canvas. In order for it to do its job, the ring needs to be correctly sized. If you are unsure of your size, we recommend confirming with us or a local jewelry store.

We hope to enlighten all of our clients with these simple facts. Taking into account these wear techniques is crucial when selecting the right piece for your lifestyle! In addition, we recommend insuring your pieces always through your homeowners or renters insurance. Especially if you are a rule breaker by nature!

KJ Couples: Kassaundra & Thomas

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

We love your love! That is why we have decided to reach out to a few of our amazing Kasia Tribe members, new and returning, to tell their stories. Love is powerful, beautiful, diverse and worthy of honoring through your unique story. By sharing these openly with you, we intend to spread joy in a time when we need it the most. We understand the privilege it is to be a part of your story, and we hope the sincerity of these couples will reflect the very special relationships we aim to have with everyone who walks through our doors (whether in-person or virtually).

Next up, we have Kassaundra & Thomas, two absolute sweethearts we are honored to call clients. You are going to want to grab your tissues for this one!

When did you know that your partner was THE ONE?

Kassie:

While I was still going to school, Thomas got offered a job in Pittsburgh, PA. All throughout the interview process, and even when he first told me about the position, I knew that he should pursue it and that no matter what I would be by his side through it all. I think we both felt that even if we were scared, we would have each other and that it would be such an incredible adventure to share. Making big life decisions and feeling confident in them because you know you can always rely on someone to be there for you really shifts the perspective on your relationship. From that point, it really did feel like we were together as one, instead of two separate people. I think that’s when we both knew that we had found someone special and that we wanted to spend our lives together going on scary but wonderful adventures.

What is one thing you love about your significant other?

Thomas:

Two things come to mind immediately upon reading this question. First of all is Kassie’s kindness. She always goes out of her way to do well by everyone in her life and is honestly the most thoughtful person I can say I’ve ever met. Secondly, her openness to new things. Whether it be a trip to somewhere neither of us have been, a concert or event that is outside of our norm, food, music, books, anything, she’s always enthusiastic about new experiences and getting out there. I appreciate that very much.

Kassie:

Thomas truly and absolutely allows and pushes me to be the truest version of myself. I have always felt a bit like I don’t quite fit in, or that I had to be a certain way in order for others to love me. I have never met someone so open to others and understanding, someone who allows you to be yourself in all forms and accepts you for it. Thomas has shown me love that I have never experienced, and it’s because I have never been more myself than I am with him.

What is an activity you love to do together?

Kassie:

Without a doubt, going to live shows. Thomas has an infinite love for music, and he has opened my ears to so many incredible artists that I would have never heard of without him. Going to live shows honestly gives us happiness that you genuinely cannot get from anything else. You feel a sense of community in a way with the people in the crowd, and it’s such a special thing to be able to sing at the top of your lungs with a room full of strangers. Definitely will be the number one thing we do post pandemic.

How did you two meet? (Give us as many details as you’d like!)

Thomas:

We actually met when we were quite young, a long time before we came together as a couple. I believe I was about 13(?) and was getting started at a gymnastics gym where Kassie happened to be taking cheer classes. Every Friday night for a few years we were always there for open gym, and over time that developed into a friendship outside of the gym too. From there we remained quite close through high school and college, but it wasn't until I finished college and moved back to Vegas that our relationship developed. Within days of my moving back we were seeing each other just about every day, just as friends (or so we thought), but over the next few months feelings grew and everything fell into place naturally for us to be together.

How did he/she propose?

Thomas:

It was early July, peak pandemic resurgence time, when I received Kassie’s ring in the mail. I previously had plans about how I might propose in this or that situation (none of which will be detailed here since they’re still good settings for future events!), but within a day or two of having that ring at home I was aching to propose as soon as I could. Kassie had joked about how she didn’t need anything special and that if/when I’m ever to propose I should just have it waiting there when she wakes up. So...I thought it would be a cute little call back to that to actually go through with it since COVID was preventing a lot of other things and I didn’t want it to be a situation that would obviously be leading to something.

However, the morning that I thought it might be a good idea Kassie had slept horribly and didn’t wake up feeling great, so I made the executive decision to abort the mission for the moment.

I believe the next day Kassie was getting ready to leave to go to a friends house and we were joking about something wedding/proposal related and as she was about to walk out the door I asked her to turn around because she had forgotten something. She immediately kicked her shoes off when she saw me on one knee and then...ran into another room? After containing herself for a second she came out and Koda, our cat, had walked over and sat next to me as if he was in on the proposal with me (thanks for the vote of confidence).

How does Kasia Jewelry fit into your story?

Kassie:

I have looked what seems like endlessly at rings online. My want has obviously changed here and there, and as I got older I really came into the notion of wanting something understated by elegant and unique. I think I came upon the Kasia Instagram around two years ago and the first picture I have saved is a solitaire oval with the wave band. Here we are two years later with my engagement being a solitaire oval and having just chosen the wave band for my wedding band (lol). Honestly the more I saw from the brand the more I knew I wanted my ring to be from you. I loved that it was a small business ran by women, that it was somewhat near us seeing as we are from Las Vegas, and obviously that everything you do is beautiful. When I first saw the milgrain band paired with solitaires I KNEW that was my perfect ring. It was the perfect amount of simplicity with a unique twist that I had never seen anyone have. Anyway, long story short you are such a beautiful brand that constantly brings out unreal products and I feel so fortunate to be apart of the couples who have your rings. I also need to just say that our showroom appointment was such an amazing experience. Chloe made Thomas and I feel like family from the very beginning of the appointment. She was very in tune with what our style was based off of what we told her and was just such a genuinely sweet human. It just solidified that we were in the exact right place and that this would be apart of our story forever.

KJ Couples: Ashley & Andy

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

We love your love! That is why we have decided to reach out to a few of our amazing Kasia Tribe members, new and returning, to tell their stories. Love is powerful, beautiful, diverse and worthy of honoring through your unique story. By sharing these openly with you, we intend to spread joy in a time when we need it the most. We understand the privilege it is to be a part of your story, and we hope the sincerity of these couples will reflect the very special relationships we aim to have with everyone who walks through our doors (whether in-person or virtually).

Next up, we have Andy & Ashley of our all-time favorite Everyday Pursuits Blog: oh so stylish couple and brand new parents from Los Angeles, CA.

When did you know that your partner was THE ONE?

I like to say I knew it from the moment I saw him - he was just so dreamy. Realistically it was probably 3-4yrs into our relationship after spending a lot of time together and realizing we just vibed so well together and I wanted to be by his side for the rest of my life.

What is one thing you love about your significant other?

We recently became parents - watching my husband become a father is truly the best thing ever. I love the way he interacts with her and the way she looks at him with pure joy every time he enters the room. It’s really just the best thing!

What is an activity you love to do together?

We love the beach! Some of our most memorable moments happened by the water: many first dates, honeymoon, first place we lived together (Venice Beach), and the first place we took our daughter after she was born.

How did you two meet? (Give us as many details as you’d like!)

All the deets here.

How did he/she propose?

All the juicy details here.

How does Kasia Jewelry fit into your story?

It all started with my wedding band and now, after 3 yrs, I have 4 beautiful Kasia rings. 3 of which are connected to significant life moments: wedding band, anniversary contour band, and push present.

We planned our wedding in a little over 4 months and to be honest, finding my wedding band was the last thing on my list. BIG mistake because come to find out it actually takes a minute to have a wedding band made. I had always seen Kasia’s work and knew one day I would own a ring from her. After realizing about 4 weeks from my wedding that I was probably not going to be able to get a wedding band in time, I decided to email Kasia to see if she had any of my favorites available. She was so sweet and came through with a beautiful option that arrived just in time for our wedding.

When it came to our one year anniversary I had been eyeing a Kasia Contour band. I sent some of my favorites to her and based on my engagement ring and wedding band she recommended the Petite Agave. It was LOVE at first sight.

Most recently my husband created out a custom Lexa Ring to commemorate my daughter’s birth. Her name is Luna (moon in Spanish) and the ring has a crescent moon shape hugging a larger diamond.
