KJ Couples: Annie & Nick

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

We love your love! That is why we have decided to reach out to a few of our amazing Kasia Tribe members, new and returning, to tell their stories. Love is powerful, beautiful, diverse and worthy of honoring through your unique story. By sharing these openly with you, we intend to spread joy in a time when we need it the most. We understand the privilege it is to be a part of your story, and we hope the sincerity of these couples will reflect the very special relationships we aim to have with everyone who walks through our doors (whether in-person or virtually).

Next up, we have Annie & Nick, two adventurous Santa Barbara natives we are honored to know!

When did you know that your partner was THE ONE?

Annie: I have to admit the first time I met Nick I instantly had the biggest crush on him, but the first time I knew he was the one was when we took our first backpacking trip together to Southeast Asia in 2015.
Nick: I knew that Annie was the one when we first started living in Denver together. We had so much fun seeing shows, going out with friends, exploring and growing together.

What is one thing you love about your significant other?

Annie: Nick is my best friend. He makes me laugh more than anyone I know. I love that Nick supports me. He listens, he motivates, and he pushes me to be the best person I can be. I love that he jokes with me and he is never afraid of a new adventure.
Nick: We are best friends. We push each other to be better people and I can honestly say that I am the best version of myself when I am with her.

What is an activity you love to do together?

We live 2 blocks away from the beach in Santa Barbara so our favorite activities are always oriented around being outdoors and in the sunshine. Beach walks, yoga, surfing, hiking, and working out are all things that we enjoy. We also love going out to casual restaurants and sitting at the bar, chatting with the bartender and trying new foods and drinks. Most of all, we love traveling together; exploring new countries, experiencing new and different cultures, and getting off the beaten path.

How did you two meet? (Give us as many details as you’d like!)

Annie: Our first time meeting each other was during Spring Break back in 2012. One of my good friends from high school became friends with Nick while they both attended CU Boulder. We were attending the same music festival and were able to connect our two large friend groups which was when we met. The rest is history.

How did he/she propose?

Nick proposed on an early morning beach walk right by our house in Santa Barbara. He completely surprised me and even had a photographer shoot the whole proposal!

How does Kasia Jewelry fit into your story?

Kasia Jewelry fits so perfectly into our love story. From our first experience with Kasia, the designs, the customer service, the in-person and virtual appointments have been incredible. We are so happy with the rings that we purchased and feel that they encompass our love. Kasia’s beautiful, elegant, and simplicity fits so perfectly into our story.

July Birthstone, Ruby!

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

July babies, this one is for you!

Referred to as the “king of precious stones” in ancient India, Rubies are the second hardest gemstone (the hardest being diamonds) making them suitable for everyday wear. They are coveted for their deep red color, most desirable with hints of purple hues, known as “pigeon’s blood” within the industry.

What gives Rubies their coveted red color? Very small amounts of the element chromium. The more chromium, the fiercer the red!

Rubies have been known to carry a wide array of different meanings throughout the centuries. At different times in history, they have been thought to foretell danger, heal inflammatory diseases, calm rage and anger, provide the wearer with invincibility, and bring success in love. We like to think of them as offering ultimate protection, and a recipe for contentment!

We love incorporating pops of red into your story, for a modern, wearable look.

Our Meitat Band, Chico Band, and Astrid Band offer just that!

For those who are July babies, who know July babies, and who raise July babies, we are sending you extra tranquility and love during your special month!

KJ Couples: Allie & Matt

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

We love your love! That is why we have decided to reach out to a few of our amazing Kasia Tribe members, new and returning, to tell their stories. Love is powerful, beautiful, diverse and worthy of honoring through your unique story. By sharing these openly with you, we intend to spread joy in a time when we need it the most. We understand the privilege it is to be a part of your story, and we hope the sincerity of these couples will reflect the very special relationships we aim to have with everyone who walks through our doors (whether in-person or virtually).

Next up, we have Allie & Matt, two absolute sweethearts we are honored to have met, virtually!

When did you know that your partner was THE ONE?

I have always had a hard time feeling “at home” with people, and safe to be myself. I knew Matt was the one when I realized how comfortable I was with him, and didn’t feel like I needed to hide anything about myself.

What is one thing you love about your significant other?

Matt is the true embodiment of unconditional love. He pours his heart and soul into our relationship and our life together, and inspires me every day to live and love more passionately and fearlessly.

What is an activity you love to do together?

We love to go storm / sunset chasing! We are lucky to experience incredible thunderstorms and sunsets during the summer in our city, and have many amazing vantage points that provide views over the city, great for storm/sunset watching!

How did you two meet? (Give us as many details as you’d like!)

I grew up taking dance classes with Matt’s younger sister Lauren, so our families have been connected since the age of about 4 or 5!

Matt and I had eyes for each other even as kids. He found any excuse to come watch his sister and I in dance classes just so we could get a brief hello and pass each other a few cute notes. His sister ended up going to a different dance studio, so we didn’t see each other for many years.  Eventually we were reunited in high school where we dated our Senior year (attending Senior Prom & Graduation together) and Freshman year of college.  As often happens, we drifted apart and needed to go our separate ways to grow and experience life on our own.  Almost 10 years later, Matt reached out to me on a whim and we met for coffee. I fully anticipated we’d have nothing but a friendship, but Matt had other ideas. Even while I tried to play hard to get, Matt swept me off my feet and it was like we had never been apart.

How did he/she propose?

Matt orchestrated a whole plan with my family, on a trip to Hawaii in February of 2020 (right before the whole world shut down!). He passed off my engagement ring to my sister under my nose to bring onto the plane, got it back from her once we checked into the hotel, and planned a grand proposal at a restaurant for the next night. I guess he just couldn’t wait, because he snuck back up to the room to grab the ring the very night we got there, and as the two of us walked the quiet beach in the twilight of the evening, he got down on one knee.

How does Kasia Jewelry fit into your story?

While we did not purchase my engagement ring from Kasia, it was my first choice for selecting wedding bands particularly due to their unique designs and hand made pieces.  While browsing for bands, I entered a giveaway which we actually won! Which of course made Kasia our for-sure pick for my wedding band (Angelica). Since then, we have also purchased Matt’s wedding band (Leo), as well as an additional stacker (Serena) for my ring “story” from Kasia. Their customer service through all of our purchases has been hands down one of the best experiences we’ve ever had from a company, and we look forward to continuing to add Kasia pieces into our collection long into the future. We plan to go back to Hawaii for our wedding this coming October (with our Kasia bands in tow).

June Birthstone, Alexandrite & Moonstone!

Posted by Angeline Weiss on

June babies, this one is for you!

June is one of three months that are lucky enough to have not one, not two, but three beautiful birthstones to choose from! Alexandrite, Moonstone, and Pearl. (Watch out December and August babies, you also have three birthstones!) We are fascinated by the ever-changing colors found in all three precious gems, and are smitten with Alexandrite and Moonstone in particular.

Alexandrite

Like a natural mood ring, Alexandrite is known to change color in different light. The most sought after Alexandrite stones appear to have a bright green or bluish green hue in indirect light, and a deep ruby red hue in direct light. Alexandrite was first discovered in Russia’s Ural Mountains in 1830, and was named after the young heir Alexander II. Alexandrite is a harder stone (8.5 on Mohs Scale), therefore it is an excellent choice for those who wish to wear it on a daily basis.

Moonstone

A truly magical one, Moonstone is known for its adularescence, giving it an otherworldly glow. Moonstone is believed to have many powerful benefits including opening the Heart and Sacral chakra to increase inner growth and intuition, acting as a talisman for travelers bringing good luck and fortune, and brings about hormonal balance and fertility in women. Basically, Moonstone gives you superpowers! It is also considered to be more of a delicate stone, therefore should be kept out of high or direct heat and sunlight.

For those who are June babies, who know June babies, and who raise June babies, we are sending you extra good luck and inner strength on your favorite month!

With love as always,

-KJ Team

And she deserves the world. It’s impossible to repay her for everything she’s done, but we think jewelry is a pretty nice start!

We love jewelry for the meaning it can hold, and the story it tells. We’ve put together a short list of pieces that speak to us on a deep level that mom is sure to cherish for a lifetime. Plus, who doesn’t love a little CANDY to elevate their everyday look. ;)

Drawing out impurities, it is celebrated for its life-giving flowing lines and energy. The perfect gift that stands for healing and positivity.

Our Tennis Bracelet always makes a statement. It’s that piece she’s always wanted and is sure to become a future heirloom. Bring elegance into your everyday look, or keep her for special occasions - you are guaranteed to receive compliments either way.
